3 Internet Marketing Mistakes That Will Destroy Your Will to Go On

3 “Mental” Roadblocks That Keep Internet Marketers Struggling – And How You Can Get Past Them

We all have 24 hours in a day – and what we choose to do within those 24 hours will have a huge impact upon our success in our online business. That, of course, is a commonsense fact.

At its simplest, this is what separates those successful internet marketers who are really making lots of money online from the struggling ones.

You are probably well aware of the fact that the way we think (i.e. how we use our mind) has a decisive influence upon how we will act. Therefore, it could make some sense to have a look into this idea as well.

These truths are simple and straightforward – yet very few “gurus” in the Internet Marketing world talk about them. Your guru will teach you “techniques”, “systems” and “methods” to make money online – but will never talk about what can hold you back from actually applying their system – in other words, what can cause failure.

We have learned that there are three main roadblocks that the vast majority of struggling internet marketers run into on a daily basis. As you go through them, think about what you do as an internet marketer, and ask yourself whether or not YOU aren’t suffering from them, too…

Roadblock #1: Procrastination

It has also been called “leaving until tomorrow what should have been done last week or last month.”

This is often due to lack of planning, no clear idea of what you want and where you want to get with your business, but also due to lack of motivation.

If you’re suffering from the habit of procrastination, you should ask yourself how you feel about those tasks you’ve been putting off for so long. Do they feel like drudgery? If so, you have three options: you can divide them into smaller steps and tackle them one step at a time (aka. divide and conquer), you can outsource and delegate them to someone else – or you can simply erase them off your to-do list if they’re not that important and won’t make such a big difference in results.

If your motivation levels are not that high these days, then ask yourself: what is that “driving force” behind your wanting to succeed online? Why do you want to make money online? You may discover that maybe you don’t want success badly enough, and that’s a surefire way to procrastinate going for it. Or you are simply lazy, case in which you should resort to outsourcing.

Roadblock #2: Entrepreneurial ADHD

So many beginner internet marketers jump from one “shiny object” to another, buying lots of programs and signing up for many lists – and reach a point where they completely lose focus on what they’re trying to achieve. They try many methods for making money online, and don’t stick with a particular method long enough, until it begins to produce results.

You have to keep focused and stay motivated even when the sales are not coming in!

Others are naturally distracted and really DO suffer from a condition called “adult ADHD” – in which case they can visit a doctor or a shrink who can work with them on curing this condition. Butmost of us don’t really have ADHD, we’re just easily distracted. In this age, it’s easy to lose focus. So get down to business and then you’ll be able to harness our focus without much effort.

Here’s a tip: if you have lots of open windows on your computer and many tabs have accumulated in your web browser’s bar, you may want to ask yourself if you’re not suffering from entrepreneurial ADHD as well. It’s very common among people who struggle in their business.

Roadblock #3: Lack of Clarity

Not being clear about your business may mean that you don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle in their right place yet. For instance, you may have fuzzy goals, and maybe you don’t have a business plan and a blueprint (aka. lack of strategic planning).

As an online entrepreneur, your job is to plan your road carefully and know the steps that have to be taken in order to get from where you are to where you want to be in your internet business. Your job is to work on your business, not in your business – so doing management work should be one of your top priorities.

So take out a sheet of paper and start planning.
