How a Squeeze Page Works

The capture page (a squeeze page) is exactly what it says it is – ‘It captures’!

In order to capture names you have to get a few things right’…Once you have them captured, there your’s to do with as you wish.

Now you have a list with just the clientele that you want, if they weren’t why were they there in the first place, and why did they give you their name. They like your stuff, now it’s down to you to prove they were right to give you their name.

If your capture page was to read ‘please leave your details and they did, would they be the sort of customers that you would want? Great, you get them to opt-in but are they likely to buy from you? It’s not penpals we’re after its buyers!!

We’re trying to capture our perfect prospects, future partners. If it’s names and address’s we were after we could get out the phone book and have a whopping list in a couple of hours. You’re wanting to capture people that are going to have an interest in what we can offer. So how best to do this…? Naturally, select only interested prospects to your list by letting them decide whether they want to sign up!!! That way you only have ready-to-buy, ‘hot’ prospects.

To capture names you need to get a whole load of things ‘right’… and once you have names captured … you have a list, filled with the people you want. And this is when the fun really starts… (whilst continuing to grow your list, of course… never stop growing!).

If you had a plain page that stated ‘please provide me with your details’ the chances are nobody would… And even if they did who knows if they are the people you’d want?

Remember, you’re trying to capture your perfect prospects. Really you’re not just after names and addresses of any old person… (you could go to a number of different directories if that’s all you want).

You’re wanting to capture people that are going to have an interest in what you can offer.

Remember the Childcatcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang?

He lured poor little Jeremy and Jemima with his lollipops, treacle tarts, and ice creams. And all ‘FREE’ today… Captured!!

Now I am not suggesting that you become a Child Catcher, hell no. My point is it worked. The kids were in the market for some sweets, he had what they wanted,  (or at least he said he did) the point is that the principle is the same, give them what they want, then capture them.

It sounds simple but this is by far the best way for people to happily hand over their name and contact details (and for you to start relationship building…) whilst also getting a good marry up of what people want, and what you are able to offer later…

Conclusion

So your ‘lure’ is going to need to be FREE, you are going to have to give something away. This can be either a free report, your weekly newsletter, video tutorial, plugin; it just has to be FREE. In return for their email address, you are going to give them your ‘lure’!
